On the early January of 2016, I’ve participate in an event called Technovation. This is an event that girls who’s study in middle school, high-school or university students all around the globe can join and participate the competition. It was a 3 months of working and studying about Coding and Business. This program was created since 2011, but I just got a chance to participate in this event in 2016. This program is create to work with the girls or students who are really interested in coding and business to work and to solve the problem of their society in their country nowadays.
What do you think this is about this event?
The first day that I went there was just an empty mind for me, I have no idea and thought about what is going to happen next day of this program. But finally I know it and I got to form a group with my school. It was such a hard work and needing a lot of patient. There were 3 people in my team. We decided to work hard and commit our self for this 12 weeks to work hard and stay together no matter what the result will happen. Moreover to continue working in this program we divided each of our member to have personal job. Two of my friends were working on Business Model which is talking about how will my idea of changing my own community would be working and how our team can earn money or profit from what we are trying to establish and I am working on the coding concept which I am using one website called AppInventor2. My team had come up with an idea of creating an app that can help solve the user problems of finding books to read and to donate books to the students at the rural area who didn’t have enough cash to buy all of those fancy and expensive nice books. So in order for me and my team to create this application we had do some validation outside our community and working with some of our friends to learn more about the problem. Finally in 12 weeks we had our prototype of how our app is look like for the first prototype and our business model for this program.
My perspective for this program is that it had made me really understand what my society problem is and realized how can we use technology to change our society. It is not easy to work in this program but I do really like this and I like taking on challenges for myself in order for me to goes to the next level of understanding in my life.
